If you like classical music do not miss to know about the program of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra has recently begun implementation of a regional project ”Pika-point-point” in cooperation with the Slovenian and Croatian Philharmonic. In addition to this, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra also performs several different programs, such as Popular, Classical, New Year’s, ”Walk on the wire” cycle and so on.
Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra is the leading national orchestra and has 98 musicians.
It has succeeded in a relatively short time to acquire a good reputation thanks to which many of the media recognized it as ”one of the leading European orchestra” (Independent), ”a cult Serbian Orchestra” (Financial Times), ”the most successful cultural institution in Serbia” (Jutarnji List Zagreb), the most powerful PR weapon of Serbia” (Kvällsposten, Malmo)
That is why it is not surprising that with the Belgrade Philharmonic performed well-known names as Zubin Mehta, Sarah Chang, Krzysztof Penderecki, etc. Barry Douglas etc.
Since 2010 the Philharmonic chief conductor is the famous Chinese conductor Muhai Tang.
Often, the public identifies the Philharmonic as a carrier of social changes,
for its provocative and creative marketing, with which is always trying to awaken cultural awareness among people. Starting from December 9, Belgrade Philharmonic is on tour in Italy.
For those who love modern music, there are popular venues such as Belgrade Arena and the Sava Center, each year hosting some of the big names of world music.
