The Belgrade Hippodrome was opened in 1914. It has 5,000 seats. Races are organised during 32 racing days annually, between April and October.
The most important races are the Gallop and Harness Racing Derby and the Hippodrome Cup Race. Through its activities it has a significant influence on the raising, selection and quality of the race horses, and thus the development of the equestrian sport in general. A modern betting facility, summer gardens and restaurants provide for entertainment of the visitors.
